Anybody running a GM Ramjet Injection?

I was just wondering if anyone has run a GM factory ramjet injection system on a sbc bird or maro and what results they were getting?

There are a small few here that have run one, it's similar to a HSR. Not sure about performance numbers though. The down side is it's more expensive, needs an LS1 throttle body, and has less material to port. Unless your dead set on running one you may look elsewhere.

I looked at the RamJet for a while. It's an older setup that uses a Mercury controller which can be very difficult and expensive to tune. Parts may be unique and eventually hard to find. I'd look at some of the newer crate engines if I were you.

Re: Anybody running a GM Ramjet Injection?

We run one on a 350HO crate engine. It was originally equipped with an airgap intake and a demon carb. Got tired of fiddling with it and found a brand new complete RamJet (less electronics) at a swap meet. Its been running perfect. Off idle feels much crisper and has great power. Now, we didn't gain 20, 30 HP or anything but the car just runs so much better.

^^That's good info and thanks for posting it. I would credit the drivability to MPFI over carb. The intake itself is pretty straightforward, it's just the price and lack of people with real world experience that steer a lot of others away.

Agree on the driveability.
Its been a few years, but I think we paid around $400 for the complete intake/TB/inj's. Like I said less electronics. We went HEI and MSD box for ignition, and FAST EZ-EFI to control the injectors. Its nice having the handheld display to monitor engine params and initial setup is pretty simple. The FAST also controls the electric fan and fuel pump.
I'm sure there's cheaper ways to control (megasquirt maybe) but this is what we did at the time. No problems with any of it in 3-4 years.
