Hey guys i'm new to this forum and this is my first post. A few weeks ago i bought my 87 Iroc with a tpi 305. im no stranger to building and working on engines but this fuel injection stuff is all new to me (carb guy lol). My car idles a bit higher than i like (1200-1500 in park and 1000 in gear). So i would like to know where i could find an obd1-usb cable i could use to check sensor data on my laptop so that i may be able to diagnose my problem. Ive already downloaded the TTS data logging software. any help would be apreciated. Thanks guys!

 

Welcome to the site. I bought my cable from moates.net
It is called "ALDU1 and CABL1" for about $80. There maybe cheaper alternatives, but I'm not sure.

 

Check for vacuum leaks if you haven't already.

 

Thanks for the response guys. ill check out moates.net. And i did not find any vacuum leaks when i went over the whole engine with a can of starting fluid. Ive also tried jumping a to b on the aldl, then unplugging the iac and setting the idle. But once i shut it off and fire it back up the idle returns to where it was before Thanks for the help guys!

 

Also look into TunerPro RT software. It's another good alternative. If you have an Android phone, there are scanners for it now too.
