Intake mods on a 305?
Intake mods on a 305?
Now that I've collected the parts to do full exhaust and a gear swap this summer, I want to start saving towards the next upgrade. I've been thinking of doing intake mods (probably aftermarket base, runners, ported plenum, and possibly an adjustable fuel pressure regulator while I'm there) since the parts can be used if/when I eventually upgrade to a 350. From what I've seen on here, almost everyone who does it seems to do it to a 350, not a 305. Is it still worth it to do, or would I not gain enough for it to be worth it?

All that expensive ported / high flow stuff would not produce much with stock heads & cam on the 305... I've seen posts of people with 305's use aftermarket base, runners... some said they had a slight gain, some lost, and some said no difference...
They will make a bigger difference on a 350....

It should still help extend the rpm range if you add siamese style runners and 1.6 rockers. Should be a slight gain

Doesn't sound like the best gain for the money spent, I might just save to do a swap sooner and worry about intake mods after that then. Thanks for your replies
