LB9 to Vette L98 -- which prom, or custom?

I'm contemplating swapping the factory 305 TPI in my 1991 T/A to an L98 that's currently in a 1991 Corvette that we're parting out at work. I'm wondering if I need to get the PROM from the Corvette, or if I can just reuse my stock one, or if I need to get a custom PROM burned for the car. I'd like to have a decent running car with VATS and without the check engine light stuck on.

I will be reusing the harness, TPI setup (with new 22 lb injectors), exhaust manifolds, EGR and AIR system, oil pan, oil pump pickup, and accessories from my car. Car is pretty much stock other than a Flowmaster, no cat, and a cheap K&N hot air intake.

Yes, grab the MEMCAL from the Vette ECM. Or even the whole ECM. It is under the hood next to the battery, black box w/4 connectors.

You may not be able to use the Vette MEMCAL in your T/A, but it is valuable. And the PROM on it can be re-burned to match your setup.

I know that the earlier MAF Vettes differed then that of the f-body's. Not sure how much difference there is in the speed density setups. Can try it and see if it works.

Edit to add, if the Vette is a stick shift don't try the MEMCAL in your car. The TCC won't work right.

The 305 memcal will work if you're not concerned about the knock sensor function. But you really need a custom tune like the AUJP file with the Corvette timing curve . A piggyback adapter and custom tune added along with the proper Memcal will work.

Will the knock sensor function work properly if I grab both the knock sensor and MEMCAL from the Corvette's ECM? Both cars are auto BTW, and I could get the whole ECM for next to nothing if needed. I've heard that a Corvette ECM in an F-Body will throw a DTC for oil temp since F-Bodies don't have that function, is that true?

Can't use the Vette ECM in the f-body, they have different form factors including different connectors.

You are correct about the oil temp malfunction DTC.

Alright, so the best bet still looks like a custom deal. I know plenty of tuners for OBD II cars, but I have no idea where to look for an OBD I tuner. I did find a seller on eBay that makes an adapter to go between the PROM and ECM that overrides all PROM functions with a custom burned chip that they provide. Does that sound like what I need? http://www.ebay.com/itm/90-92-TPI-Ca...KMawrw&vxp=mtr

That would do the trick, just tell angel how you want it reprogramed, emissions, vats timing curve ect....
