I'd recently purchased an 87 trans am, that has a TPI in it. I'll be completely honest, I don't know anything about these engines. My expertise is in carbs and dirt car motors. So I have a braided line coming out of the back of the fuel rail on the passenger side. It leaks fuel when running, quite heavily. I have no idea where this connects to, my guess is it's a return line. But if anyone could help me identify this, it'd be greatly appreciated.

It looks like it installed for a pressure gauge. That fitting in the rail is normally capped. It has a Schrader valve in it. (or had in it). Get rid of the line and cap the port before it burns to the ground!

From the factory, it's just a schraeder valve so you can hook up a pressure gauge. Lots of us have a permanent rail mount gauge, but it's definitely not the return line. You can just cap it.

Wonderful. I really appreciate the help. I really need to familiarize myself with this set up as this car is being given to my father for his 60th birthday next year. I'd love to be able to do the work on it for him when it's needed
