I forgot to ask before..... is there a thread sealant used, or just tighten it firm? Teflon tape?

I used Teflon tape on the gauge and the brass coupling but not on the schrader valve.

Re: Fuel rail mounted fuel pressure gauge

old thread, but in the quest to get my rebuilt engine running i decided to mount a FPG on the fuel rail. Bought the parts as suggested; however, the elbow (361-923104) does not have a provision to push the schrader pin in.....wrong part number?

Re: Fuel rail mounted fuel pressure gauge

Rail mounted gauges are notorious for failing. Been there, done that over the last 20 years. They are more suited for testing purposes only.

Re: Fuel rail mounted fuel pressure gauge

Did you determine why you hve no pressure. I'm having same issue suddenly. I hear pump prime and cut off, but test gauge shows like 2-3lb of pressure (if that).

Most gauge ports are a dash -3 /-4 (exact size escapes me at the moment) just use the elbow and go to local hardware store and get a jic cap for natural gas fittings. Any ace hardware will have a selection of it. 5 bucks or less.

However, for as cheap as 0-100 psi transducers are now days and gauges being so cheap. Just do an electric gauge and not have to mess with fuel getting dripped on the intake. Sensos have for better and cheaper. Added benefit is if your ecu has an extra 0-5 volt sensor input that's scalable you can data log it when tuning. Pretty sure the 7727 does. Can't speak for the f body ecus

Re: Fuel rail mounted fuel pressure gauge

Nice simple setup and the good thing is if there's any issues you can remove it all and re install the Schrader valve into original fitting. I haven't ran mine yet but I used the same setup.
