New TPI engine build

Have a question on my engine build for my 98 IROC. Building for primarily street use. 3.70 rear gear, T56 6 speed. Dyno Don headers, AFR 180 heads, comp cams 268 XFI cam, roller lifters and roller 1.5 rockers. Holley 58mm throttle body, edelbrock base, ported SLP runners and ported stock plenum. Was planning on a 350 build, but engine builder suggested building it as a 383. I already have most of the parts and don't really want to change heads, but everything I see says that the 180 heads are to small for a 383. Am I better off sticking with a 350 if I keep the 180 heads?

Re: New TPI engine build

With tpi the 180's are fine

Both will make power, the 383 will do alot more trq

Thanks thats what I'm after - loads of torque. The car will rarely, if ever see the track.
