305 Heads

I have a 305 with TBI heads now with a TPI installed. I found a set of 416 305 ho heads rebuilt for 100. Would I see much power gain swapping to these heads? I'm currently running a LT1 cam also. Thanks

Re: 305 Heads

The 416 flow better than tbi heads, just a guess they maybe worth 30hp at the flywheel.
You can run a Corvette TPI intake manifold or elongate the center four holes of the intake unless your using a 85 manifold.

Re: 305 Heads

Ok cool, so worth the money. I do have a 86 intake to match the old style heads. Thanks

Re: 305 Heads

You will see very little in the way of HP gains even if you port the 416s. I would suspect less than 25 hp @ 5,500 rpm. You will see a power loss clear through 4,500 rpm.
