oil pressure sending unit location?

wheres the pressure sensor?

non of my gauges work the engine was swapped into my truck so the wiring is not perfect. i want the sensors and gauges to monitor my engine while driving.

how does the wiring work for the pressure sending unit, is it connected to the ECU ,can i just swap in some after market gauge that just goes straight to the dash and thats it? is there such thing as a mechanical one ?

i really want to see how the engine is doing when i drive im sick of not being able to monitor or know anything about the motor or other parts till they go bad.

Re: oil pressure sending unit location?

The oil pressure switch for pump power can be separate from a gauge sender or all in one depending on year. It located above the oil filter or in the rear China wall in the block behind the intake manifold.
You can add a t and run a mechanical or electric gauge at either tap if equipped.
