Leaking injectors!!
Been a while since I was on the board, so its good to be back...
ANYWAY, after replacing my distributor I went to start my 1991 Z28 and it wouldn't start- smell of gasoline, BIG TIME. I opened the hood and I had gasoline all over the manifold and pouring on the floor of the garage! I have had THREE engine fires in this thing as it is, and my previous 1991 RS 3.1 burned to the ground on me, so I am getting damn sick of these problems. I pressurized the system and could see fuel spraying out from the injector/fuel rail area on at least two injectors. Here is where I need to say THANK YOU, BIG TIME, to Frank at Southbay Fuel Injectors.
I called him and explained what was happening, since I bought the injectors from him about 4 years ago. This was on a Wednesday. I received replacement injector seals, TOP AND BOTTOM, from him on the following Friday, two days later, by express mail at no additional charge. Now THAT is customer service. I can not recommend him highly enough!
When I pulled the injectors, I found the seals at the top of the injectors green/brown and shrunken- significantly smaller than the nice black o-rings I replaced them with. Now I know that vehicles built prior to 1998 are not engineered for ethanol fuels like we have in the People's Republic of California, that ethanol attracts water and can cause corrosion of fuel systems(Jay Leno has complained about having to regularly replace the fuel systems in his older cars due to ethanol blended fuels) but has anyone else seen this type of damage to injector seals?!?

Welcome back after your Hiatus!
I personally never experience your issue. But sometimes I think Ethanol Blended fuel hate themselves. The can't get along with anybody!
Try and find a Pure gas with no Ethanol in it. I lived out there for 23 years...It might be hard to find. Here's a link though. Good Luck!
