Lingenfelter 383 TPI exhaust and E-prom advice

I have a 1988 GTA which hasn't been on the road in years and have been looking to get it going again. It has a 383 4-bolt main, Callie's crank, Speed-Pro pistons, LPE 219 camshaft with Crower 1.6 roller rockers, Accel Super Ram and base, '89 Vette 2.00 1.56 LPE killer port job, 58mm throttle body, SLP 1 3/4" Tri-y headers, gutted cat, 3.42 gears, 5 speed. I looking to get an intermediate pipe and muffler but not sure if I should stay with 3" or larger. Also I never got the right Chip burned for the car. Lingenfelter made me one but kept getting a check engine light. The car runs strong but hunts at idle ( 800- 1500 RPM) , hard to start when cold ( no 9th injector)and has a pinging issue. I ran it at the track 20 years ago when I built the motor and it ran 12.90's at 119mph with street tires spinning through first gear with a 2.6 sec 60'. After blowing the tranny 3 times I lost interest, but I had G force rebuild the tranny a few years ago. Thanks
