So I just purchased a 92 firebird GTA 305 for next to nothing. Starts everytime with high idle around 1700. Checked tps sensor, reading at .54. Throttle body was gunked so I took it apart and scrubbed it clean and getting the same results. Headers are glowing after just a couple of minutes. I was told it could be timing so I loosened the distributor bolt and played with it a bit. I set it to retard a bit and sounded better and idle for a bit then died. I'm new to the tpi setups and have run out of options. Any help or ideas would be great! Thanks.
