What would be the best way

To make a custom fuel injection setup for my 327 using fuel rails and sensors from a TPI setup and getting them to work on a open plenum carb style intake. I also remember hearing about using a TB from a 454? Anyone have any experience doing something like this or no some one that has or has a link to a page that could be helpfull. Thanks in advance.

Edelbrock victor jr. with injector bungs. Have the intake drilled and tapped for injectors, get accell elbow in place of carb, then put a 58mm holley TPI throttle body on it, add fuel rails, etc............... A few people on this board have already done it. I think Guido on this board has this done.

Well I already have an intake with boss' for injecters. How much do those elbows run for I have seen them before. But was thinking about trying it with as much j/y parts or used parts as possible. Is it possible to use a thottle body from a tbi 454 and strip it of everything but the trottle body itself and the throttle position sesnsor?

Nope, that TB wont bolt up. edelbrock makes a tb like the one you are thinking about (4 barrel without injectors). it comes in a whole kit with intake, fuel rails, injectors, wiring harness and computer.

If you already have an intake with the injector bosses, you just need some fuel rail stock (i'm sure you can get it from ligenfelter , accel , TPIS, etc) and then drill the holes for the injectors. Then you plumb to the fuel rails with whatever type of hardline/hose you want. Not that difficult, if you search they are prolly some posts on how to do it from people making custom rails for serious MR cars.
Yes, you can gut a 454 TBI unit and simply use it as a 2 barrel throttle body with it's TPS and IAC for your ECM. You simply need an adapter plate to stick it on your (guessing) 4 barrel flanged intake. Turbo city among others make these, or you could make your own for practically nothing.

Well I would like to fab most of the stuff myself and I would like to stay away from the kits because if I dont have a spare 2 plus grand sitting around. What would I need to do for a control system? Could I just use the stock computer and have it reprogrammed? If so how would I go about doing that? As for the fuel rails would it be possible to use stock tpi rails? Sorry for all the questions but one more. Am I correct in assuming speed denisty would be better to go with rather than Mass air? Thanks again.
