Will 3" valve covers fit an 88 Iroc?
Will they fit? The stock covers measured 2". The problem is, my motor is all apart, and I cant remember how close the alternator was to the valve cover. I would like the taller valve covers for roller rocker clearance. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance, Jeremy
They should! I have M/T cast aluminum valve covers that are 3 1/4" tall (from gasket surface to top of fins) and they cleared the SLP runners.

Edit: I reread your post.......the M/T's also cleared the alternator (87 V-belt setup in my case.....alternator is on the passengers side)

They hit the power outlet on my alternator on 89 firebird, so I had to beat the valve cover a little bit with a hammer.
I'm using the sportsman-II heads, so I use the parimeter covers rather than those stupid centerbolt ones.
