88 5.7 in an 89 T/A
88 5.7 in an 89 T/A
OK so I bought my car earlier this year with it running rough and have it running well now but I am ready to start looking forward. It has a 5.7 TPI out of an 88 GTA in the car. The car is an 89 GTA that the previous owner years ago, found a cracked block and put in the 88 motor. It runs and drives fine now, so I have a baseline to start with finally. Before I start looking at upgrades, I would like to understand what I have. What does one have to do to put an 88 5.7 TPI motor (the complete motor) in an 89 5.7 TPI car? I know there is the 9th injector, which mine has but it is sitting there unplugged. What would he have had to do to get this motor to work in the car? Any electronics changes? Just trying to understand what he would have had to change/delete/add to get this to work in the car. What are the differences between 88 and 89?
Thanks!

just the cold start stuff. It doesn't have to be hooked up for use in the 89, nothing magical, enjoy.
