'85 IROC TPI-source for emissions replacements
Looking for source for replacement emissions miscellaneous for my engine. The vapor canister, for one, has been sitting around for 16 years and looks nasty. Sure don't want to put the engine back in to use with 33 year old hoses, in addition to some of the electronics attached to them. Is there any one good place to be able to buy this stuff? Hadn't checked any of the local auto part stores yet, but figured being as old and year-specific this stuff is, they wouldn't begin to be able to carry everything for every car.
Just looking for some suggestions, and thanking all in advance.

Anyone?
Can the vacuum canister be "restored" at home to function as new? What about check valves or other emission components?
I appreciate any suggestions you may have.

Unfortunately not a lot of the emissions parts are available new. Makes it real fun in California. I was trying to find an A.I.R. diverter valve for my 87 TA and I ended up having to get one for an 89+ off eBay and modify the mount and inlet to get it to work with mine. Also needed the charcoal canister purge solenoid and I lucked out and found one from an 87 Z28 that was exactly the same. And then an EGR solenoid...
People have rebuilt charcoal canisters, but I don't think you need to unless the charcoal fell out or it smells:

With the solenoids, like the EGR and canister purge solenoids, depending on year they can be either normally open or normally closed. Unless you can modify your tune, you will have to make sure the replacement one matches or came from the same year to be safe.

Test it and see if it actually works before you throw parts at it. You'd be surprised. I just pulled a '91 z28 out of a barn after sitting for almost 15 years. put some fresh gas in it and an oil change and it passed smog surprising well. Just because it looks nasty doesn't mean its not working.

It seems that Autozone has some of these parts. Duralast brand.
But I don't their listings go back to the earlier years, even though some of the parts are the same.
You might have to compare pictures. Here are some examples.

If I knew what I could get by leaving off, believe me I would. There are a few things that won't be going back on, but this is my first engine transplant that uses a computer so I am learning-a lot-as I go along.
Thanks for your tips and suggestions.
