EGR valve compatibility

Converting my LO3 5.0 TBI to TPI. I have TPI hardware from 89 TPI 5.0. I know the 89 still used the heat sensor, but my 90 will not (using 1990 speed density PROM in 7730 ECM). Question is: can I use the 1989 EGR valve or is there some other difference between the 89 and 90 EGR valve other than the wire?

Re: EGR valve compatibility

I think they are the same other than the temp sensor.
just verify if it’s a positive or negative back pressure valve. There will be a p or n on the valve body.

Re: EGR valve compatibility

Thanks, the 89 EGR has an "N" on it. Will that work properly with the '90? I've read contradicting specs. Some call for P for 1990 LB9, some say N.

Re: EGR valve compatibility

I think I would be inclined to try the n egr valve
