EGR ?

On my 90 5.7
.
Many years ago I had the ZZ3/Corvette heads and Accel intake installed.
Custom chip as well.

Since the ZZ3 heads don't have the exhaust cross over port on them is EGR disabled?
Reinstalling the intake after repairing some issues and curious if I need to put it back on.

Re: EGR ?

99% your chip deleted EGR (although I have read a few posts where guys claimed they deleted EGR and didn’t tune for it and no SES occurred)

I believe “putting it back on” in the context of your 113s would require some extra work as per the pics in post #13.

Re: EGR ?

Thank you Sir

Read through the link.
Not going to do all the modifications needed to get it working.

Thinking of getting a block off plate.Anyone have one For Sale?
What else is associated with the EGR that can be removed?

Re: EGR ?

The tune has two things that need to be addressed. Code 32 flag. And the mat temperature which the egr is commanded on needs to be maxed out.
hawks has a block off kit or you can source one on eBay.

Re: EGR ?

Or one with a “cool” TPiS logo...that you’ll never see :P

...are you sure your accel base doesn’t already have a block off plate in it? I would bet any pro shop competent enough to tune the EGR out wouldn’t skip that.

Re: EGR ?

Tuned
I purchased that one off ebay.

The heads and intake were swapped in 1994 and the car had to pass the emissions standards of the day.
I just removed the EGR valve to clean the intake.
Assuming they left everything else looking as if it was working.

Re: EGR ?

If the egr solenoid has just been removed and you get a error 32 you will need to have another tune done. The ecm doesn’t see nox it sees the solenoid resistance.

Re: EGR ?

The EGR system wont show a code even if there is no exhaust?
Will reinstall everything if it's going to show an error code.

Re: EGR ?

I put all the EGR stuff back on.
Don't want to make any changes until I get it running well again.
