89 Firebird oil pressure issue
I have a 1989 Pontiac Firebird 5.0 TPI I am having an issue after driving it for about 2 and a 1/2 hours straight the oil pressure will drop sometimes and it will start running with krapp and stalling but once it's cooled down and sits for a little bit it'll start right up and drive perfectly fine I'm never at an issue with this card just started doing this not long ago anybody has an idea please let me know somebody told me could be the distributor it could also be the oil pressure switch because it is a Computerized car please and thank you

Re: 89 Firebird oil pressure issue
Its not going to be an oil pressure problem. Id start by changing plugs, wires, cap+ rotor and most of the time that straightens such as this out.

Re: 89 Firebird oil pressure issue
If your oil pressure is falling off, I'd be looking at replacing the sender. They get notoriously dodgy with age and from memory (which isn't that good these days, so please correct me if I'm wrong) the sender also supplies power to the fuel pump relay.
