Wiring Harness

I need a wiring harness for a TPI system of an 87 IROC. Is painless wiring the only place to get it from? Does GM still make them? $250 seems a lot for just a bunch of wires.

You would be better off finding a wiring harnass off of a 90 to 92 TPI car. It does not matter that the TPI unit is a 87. The wiring will still work if you get the correct computer for it. It is to my understanding that the computers off of a cavalier or lumina ect will work. THis way everything will be correct and if you find one off a Z-28 swipe the headlight harness also then you can have the factory wiring harness for the fog lights. Just my.02 worth.

I can't imagine that working since the 90-92 are Speed density based and the 87 is a MAF based.

well, you are correct, if you have a complete MAF setup, it will not work with SD harness, if all you have is 87 TPI hard parts, then any harness and computer will work. my TPI is an 85 manifold, runners, plenum setup because of my engine is old bolt style. But the wiring and computer is 90-92 SD. i belive the reason that the SD harness was mentioned is that you will be able to easily intall that harness into you cars original harness with the least aomount of problems. HTHs
