Went Elbow over Mini Ram on new build

Built a new engine for my IROC. Went with the elbow and worked the manifold HARD. 6% loss to the front two runners and 4% to the rest. Should be a beast. Goes on the dyno November 2nd.

4.165 x 3.48
205cc CNC heads
LGM rockers
11-1 1/1/2mm Mahle
Scat LW crank and rods
TPiS solid roller
231/235 112LSA 108ICL .580 lift
Morel lifters
1/2 Manton pushrods
Motown manifold
TPiS 58mm
36lb injectors

There's no doubt the thing is going to be a strong runner - definitely a solid build with quality parts and workmanship. Looks good to boot!!

Re: Went Elbow over Mini Ram on new build

Did I read that correctly? Half inch pushrods?

Looks like it will be an awesome piece! Should we play a game of guess that Dyno number and peak rpm? Lol.

You're going to need more injector. I currently have my 36 pounders maxed, 100% dc, pulsewidth over 18ms @6000 rpm, at 62 psi on gas, on a 383 miniram combo. I'm sure you're making more steam then I am. I'd like to see the difference between a MR and the single plane with an elbow on the dyno, as its something I've considered.

These are 410@60 psi. Might needs more but that's easy.

Those pushrods are beefy my friend. Don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. How’s the weight with those? Looks like it’s built to run to 7500!! Any ideas on power output? Have to say I like the setup with the elbow!

I've never weighed one to be honest. The induction and cam was designed to be all bone by 62-6300.

My goal was 500/500.

Does the Elbow fit under the stock hood?

Re: Went Elbow over Mini Ram on new build

Good looking build!

I used the exact same elbow on my supercharged Iroc a few years back and blew the welds right where it meets the TB when I ran 25 psi. Who makes it?

Yes, it should fit under the stock hood, the entry point was very close to my stock TPI setup

Exactly the same height as the Holley Stealth Ram.

BUT, I will find out soon!

This is a nitrous outlet. They also offer a double weld for boost. (inside and out)

Re: Went Elbow over Mini Ram on new build

This is what it's going in. 1986 IROC. Taken down to bare metal and every nut, bolt, interior replaced.

I also found a DANA 44 FOR IT!

Top car. Bottom car is 100% original.
