Battery Dying

1988 5.7 T.P.I. Before I begin I need to go buy a new battery i'm fairly certain it has a dead cell by now. Just getting around to re-tackling this issue. But before I knew the battery was ****ed, the car would run through it quickly. I changed the alternator and now I'm at a loss. I've heard there's a stupid little fuse on the back of the radio that goes bad and just destroys the battery. If anyone has any advice on where to start it would be much appreciated. I'm not much on electrical so cheers.

First step is to take the battery to any auto parts store that can charge and then load test it for you. If it tests bad, replace it; if not re-install it, start the engine, and measure the voltage across the battery with the engine running. This will tell you if, in fact, the alternator is charging the battery or not.

The next step will be determined by the results of the above basic tests.
