L98 cam lift limit

I know vortec heads have issues with guide to retainer clearance, how much cam can a stock L98 head take before that's a problem?

Thanks-

Eric

Re: L98 cam lift limit

You can fit LS beehives on a Vortec head and get 0.500+ pretty easily. And they are far better heads. L98 heads use the larger diameter old style springs and I'm not sure on the state of beehives for that application.

Re: L98 cam lift limit

I am aware vortecs are better heads, I am swapping the L98 heads onto a TBI 350, and want to retain the stock TBI intake. I'm not planning on a huge cam, but I want to make sure I'm not giving myself problems.
