upgrading PCV system or valve?

Hi all,
I asked a question about a year and a half ago about the fitment of my old pcv valve vs my new one and other questions about the system. Today while I was driving into work I was having a bit of fun with the car from light to light, and began to smell burning oil. Once I got to work I could see a small amount of smoke from under the driver's side area of the car, and inspected under the hood. I didn't find any obvious signs of leaking at the PCV valve, but the oil fill cap has a small, super thin, trail of oil down from it towards the header. The engine is new, it didn't have much time on it, and when I built it into the TPI setup (was about to be someone's 350 crate for an S10 project, with no mods and no intake manifold) we inspected the cylinders and found everything to be in great shape. We didn't pull the pistons out to examine the rings, because the engine showed signs of not much use. The only interesting part was the replaced oil pump, which we couldn't ever find an explanation of. My question is tho, is there a way to upgrade the PCV system? I don't think there is any chance of blow by since everything was in great shape, but I am wondering if the PCV isnt letting enough air through to vent.

I think it might be worth mentioning too, the engine has C4 corvette valve covers on summit aluminum heads. has anyone ever had any issues with that venting through the pcv system?

thanks for any help

One picture can tell us more than you could possibly write about this. Please post some.
