How do I keep a TPI 305 Cool?

Hey, I have a 91 Z28 with the 305.. Little head work done, K&N, Flowmaster, etc... It runs ok temp wise for the most part.. BUT, once I get on it ONCE in town, it gets pretty hot. I usually have to go home and let it cool. I have a low temp thermo in it, but what else can I do to make it run cooler?

I had the same problem when I first bought my Camaro.

At first it was the Radiator... so ur Rad is busted.. go buy a new one forsure. BELIVE ME! I thought the same as u did and in the end my engine coolent was over flowing and boiling at the sametime. Take care!

its happend to me many times
haha..
I would have to stop and put water in it!

Get a jet fan switch to the turn the radiator fan on earlier than some 230 degrees. Or just by pass the thing entirely and have the fans run all the time. Thats what the previous owner in my car did.. Runs 170ish all the time. When i get on her only about upto like 190ish..

I would say if your radiator looks old and grungy when you look in the filler cap, replace it. Sounds like it may be plugged up. If you want a fan switch you could buy a Jet switch, or you could just go to radio shack and pick up a relay and switch (cheaper). Make sure you have an airdam below the front clip deflecting air into the radiator. Another thing to check is the radiator cap itself. You may want to check the small stuff first, but it sounds to me like its new radiator time.
