LT1 Intake to stock l98???

I have a possibility to buy a fully "l98 converted" lt1 intake off a '96 c4 corvette. Is it worth it to slap it to a stock l98?

! also if someone has done it or something close to (miniram etc on stock l98) experiences and dyno sheets are appreciated !

Without supporting mods and a tune to truly take advantage of a LT1/Miniram style intake, it would likely not be worth the work.

Re: LT1 Intake to stock l98???

There is a guy on the Corvette Forums that will do the conversion for you for $300, last I knew. I'm sure you could go on there, do a search and find the guy....can't remember his name ATM. Sorry.

WRT to "worth it"? You can decide that. I've heared/read many-a-time that "an L98 with an LT1 or Miniram intake is an LT1". No, it's not. I'm in the midst of doing a re-make of the Ten Times the Tork test that was done decades ago, and I have already run a MiniRam on a pretty stock L98...and the result was a big loss in tq w/only a marginal (17hp) gain in power. You can see the details of that, RIGHT HERE

So, it's a personal choice as to if it's worth that trade off to you or not, but there are the raw numbers for you to think about.

Re: LT1 Intake to stock l98???

After having tuned on my Miniram for years, I often wonder what TPIS does for its chips. With the factory TPI AE settings it hesitates and stumbles like crazy. Are they really doing anything with the AE?
