Are the 86 and 87 factory TPI ecm harnesses the same?
I tried the search and couldnt find anything.
Just picked up an 86 Iroc that somebody converted to a carburetor and the took the ecm harness out and tossed it. I'm going to put it back TPI. I have a complete 87 engine in the basement that has the factory harness still on it unbolted at the firewall bulkhead so my question is do those two years share the same harness?

86 and 87 are the closest interchange you'll find if I'm not mistaken. Should work fine. I removed all of the 9th injector stuff from my 88, message if you need parts.
Re: Are the 86 and 87 factory TPI ecm harnesses the same?
I picked up a full engine pullout with harness and ecm from an 86 yesterday so will end up putting that back in the car but just for curiosity's sake while the 86 and 87 pullouts are still next to each other in my basement I might compare the harnesses.

I believe that 1987 was functionally the same, although that might also be the year that the electrical connectors themselves began to migrate to the later PED design.
