Bad hesitation
Oiy!
Okay so, a couple weeks ago I was driving on the higway, and crusing about 80 mph and the SES came on after about 30 min, stayed on till i got home and had the car off, when i started it up again the SES was gone and didnt come back it seemed until I had been travelling at about 80+ for a while.
So then today I was parked idling talkin on the phone when the car shut off, it had been runnig and driving for about 20 min in the city. I started it back up and the SES light was on and the car was hesitating awfully.
I got back home turned it off and after about 10 min of runnin and errand came out started it back up to move it to a different spot and it was running fine.
So.. what broke?
Is it the EGR? If so what part of the EGR? What should I replace?
Thanks in advance

Gotcha
Maybe the EGR is getting stuck.. That would explain your rough idle and hard starting. IF you're breathing exhaust gases at idle your engine will run like crap, it isn't supposed to recycle untill you're at cruising speeds.
So sounds to me like its stuck or getting fruity

Thats what I did
Dont even rip it out, first unplug the solinoid and see if your problem stops, if not pull the actual EGR and block it off, you'll still have the SES light, but it'll run like a champ

Hmmm. I wonder why I havn't been getting a code 32 with my motor. I don't have any kind of egr hooked up to my LT4 intake so I would think it would throw the code immediately. The electrical connection for the egr solenoid is just sitting there unplugged.

I'm lookin at this page and it said that this about 12
This code will flash whenever the diagnostic terminal is grounded with the ignition turned On and the engine not running. If additional trouble codes are stored in the ECM they will appear after this code has flashed three times. If this code appears while the engine is running, no reference pulses from the distributor are reaching the ECM.
It said 42 was:
Electronic Spark Timing bypass circuit or EST circuit is grounded or open. A malfunctioning HEI module can cause this code.
So maybe my distributor and EGR have died?

The module is inside the distributor at the base.
There's an EGR "valve" and an EGR "Solinoid" that controlls the valve
The EGR valve is under the plenum (on tpi) its kinda bronze looking. Follow the vacuum lines coming off of that and you'll find the solinoid.
