TPI Conversion question

Hi guys, new member, long time reader here. Gotta quick question, I recently acquired a '85 coupe from a friend of mine, and the car originally came with the rochester compu-carb. I have a 350 TPI engine in my garage that I want to drop into the car, but need to know if the car originally had an in tank fuel pump. I know that I'm gonna have to upgrade the fuel pump, as well at the fuel lines. Your replies are greatly appreciated!! Hope to see some of you at SLP day in E-Town in April!!

Thanks!!
Derrick

Just look at the bottom front passenger side of the engine that's currently in it. There's probably a mechanical fuel pump attached there. If not you'll see plate that looks like a rectangle with a pointy top end held on by 4 bolts. Being carbureted it probably was NOT an in-tank unit.

Thanks for the reply, The only thing I know is that the car was a 305 carbd. engine with a 5 speed. A buddy of mine gave the car to me, but yanked the engine & tranny before I recieved it. One more quick question though, since it is an '85, and that was the first year for TPI, would if have been pre-wired from the factory for an in tank fuel pump? I know that my '89 RS convert. was pre wired for certian things, like fog lights. I'm just hoping to avoid a fiasco with trying to run wires & such. Again, any insight is GREATLY appreciated!!!!
