Camaro air lid
ok has anyone made or tried to make the air box that sits on top of the air filters in a camaro? the part that they now call the air lid on the new z28's.
i'm gonna give it a try here in a few days but i was just wondering if anyone has had experience with it or not.

I don't know of anyone that's tried to make a better id for the filters in a camaro. It's entirely possible that there simply isn't room to make one much better than what you have. Plenty of folks have gone pretty fast w/ the stock piece though.
One area you can improve on is right at the outlet. If you look inside you'll see a ridge that comes up from the bottom right across where it necks down to be round. Getting rid of this is prolly worthwhile if you have some extra time. The easiest way i found to remove it was to simply cut that whole section of the floor out and remade it with epoxy.

well i'm gonna give it a shot. i'll probably go ahead and fix the old one and if i get them both ready in time i'll test them both out on the dyno and i'll remove the air filters and then take the air box off and let the MAF sit open and see what it gets.
