ordering from summit ?, for l98

hi guys, just got some guestions and wondering if anyone is using any of these products and they are worth the money ?
1/ was wondering if i get a melling high flow oil pump, and pickup will that fit with the stock oil pan ,
2/ anyone using one of the cooler flowing water pumps, that flow better then stock , ?
3/ anyone using a timming gear, instead of timming chain, for a roller cam i have a 89 l98 and if so do they have the part number from jegs or summit, and how loud is the machined noise one ?
4/ need a tq conveter can anyone list some people, dont want to really go with tci or b and m, converters ?
4/ anyone using one of those mini starters and are they worth the money ?
5/ do i need to get the msd ignition 6al , that has the rpm module if i wanted to use a shift light, or will the other one work model 6a
6/ transgo kit, can i hold any rpm with a 700r4 ?

ok well sorry for the long post just kicking around some guestions,

I dont think you are going to get alot of responces on this one because you have asked way too many questions. But I have a mellings high performance oil pump but I dont know what my car was like with the stock one because I bought the car after It was beefed up.
But I also dont know all the hypo parts on my car tell I take my engine apart to put in a new cam.
but hey man, start with the simple stuff first. Then work your way up as you get the moola.

P.S. Summit is a great catalog but they dont have much for us L98 guys. Its mostly Lt1 or Ls1. But its funny how they have a whole section on 5.0 mustangs. Makes me mad. When will a mag. besides chevy hyperformance recongize the ability of the L98. enough rambleing. I dont know do what you want.

Not sure on many of the questions.

But I can try and someone can correct me.

1: Believe so.
2: Cooler flowing? usually it's more about electric or not. Not real sure.
3: Nope, I'm not. However, isn't there a timing gear that is about as loud as a supercharger?
4: Check the tranny boards. Request Dana or pro-built (same person) and he can help you, and possibly sell it as well.
5: Well, I know a guy with stock ignition and he runs a shift light. So I'd assume you don't need anything special with it. However, I've never installed one.
6: Hmm, you can already hold any rpm. There's no rev limited in our cars, you can rev as high as you'd like. I know by accident. Atleast, I managed to hit 6500 in my car before realizing I was in first and not second (yea, amazing)




As for summit having nothing on an L98. It's a first gen SBC... they have everything you need. Just call them and ask to see if they have what you need. Only thing they don't really have for us is the intake side of things.
