I just finished building my 383 with a Super Ram setup. The cam is a 222/230 at .050 and I.509" and E.528". I'm pulling about 8psi of vacuum at idle and the best is 11psi. I have a 58mm throttle body and 30lb injectors. Everytime I WOT my car is seems to bog out and blow out black smoke. I had my PROM burned by ed wright. I'm starting to think my computer is running in limp home mode. I am also not getting a reading when I plug the scanner to it.

 

If your scanner cant hook up to the ECM then it definetly has a problem. It's either in limp home mode due to a bad EPROM, or the ECM is just bad. Does the SES light come on ? If so... any codes ?

 

I don't get any SES lights, my PROM code is AVXW.
is there a way to test my computer? I think my PROM is a v6 proma but not sure. does ed wrights chip work by flashing the chip and just uses the PROM as a connector?

 

if it is blowing black smoke you could possibly be flooding your engine with fuel, what size injectors are yu running??
