How does this valvetrain setup look?
I'm looking at this setup, let me know what you think. If I'm right, this summit TPI cam looks alot like the medium one from SLP? This isn't TOO much cam is it? I don't really know alot about cams, but a good friend suggested the SLP Part# 51006 and this one is similar isn't it? Thanks. It's going into an '87 Z28 305 TPI. Stock, but a flowmaster muffler and tailpipes, TPI airfoil, K&N's. What kind of power might I see from this?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Summit TPI Cam kit
Up to 40 more horsepower for your TPI engine
Chevy: 1985-87 Camaro 305, 350, 1985-87 Corvette 350; Pontiac: 1985-87 Firebird 305, 350, 268/278 degrees duration TPI camshaft kit
Advertised duration: 268 intake/278 exhaust
Duration at .050 in. cam lift: 204 intake/214 exhaust
Gross valve lift: .420 in. intake/.442 exhaust
Lobe separation: 112 degrees
Stuffed in an '86 IROC Camaro with a 305 TPI motor and an ADS Super Chip installed, our TPI cam kit made 40 extra horsepower and knocked almost a full second off the IROC's 0-60 times--and the computer worked perfectly. This kit includes the cam, lifters, springs, retainers, and lube. If your car has more than 30,000 miles, we suggest you add a new timing chain.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One of the highest lift rockers for the street.
Chevy: 1987-up 305, 350 with self aligning, 3/8 in. stud, 1.6 ratio, chromemoly, roller tip rockers
One way to increase power is to increase lift. That's what makes these Competition Cams Magnum steel roller tip rocker arms so popular. They're one of the highest lift rockers you can get outside of racing. And along with the lift, you also get a ball pivot roller tip to prevent valve stem and guide wear.
Sold as a set of 16.

Also, someone told me that putting in roller rockers requires alot of modification to the heads for them to fit. Is this true? Or are they just like anything else, all you have to do is switch them out? If so, can anyone recomend some good roller rockers? Something that is good, but not too expensive.

Well, I just talked to a friend, I don't think the summit TPI cam kit will work with my roller anyway, it says for non-roller cam TPI engines. Thanks anyway guys. What about the SLP medium sized cam :
Camshaft Specs: Valve Lift Duration Duration@.050
in: .495" 270 218
ex: .502" 276 224
...and Crane Gold Race Rockers, 1.5's? This sound like a good setup? It OUGHT to be for around 700$... hehehe.
