Help me love my car

I'm not happy with my car.. Hopefully someone can help me out here though First off, my car randomly decides that it's not going to start up and idle nicely for me. Some times it'll manage to keep itself running at about 300rpms, but mostly when it's doing it, it won't even keep running unless I'm giving it some gas.

It seems that it's fouling the spark plugs. It looks like both oil and fuel. I took it to a mechanic to diagnose it, and they said the MAT sensor was shot. I managed to replace that (and break a hose to the egr at the same, but that's a different story), and now it throws a code 44 (lean exhaust). I just replaced the o2 sensor, changed the oil, and cleaned off the spark plugs.

When I started it, it roughly idled for a while. I took it for a drive and it seemed to get better. But it did that before I replace the o2 sensor. It still throws a code 44 and will occasionally not want to stay running at idle.

Any ideas? Sorry for the long post.

BTW, it's an '86 WS6 Trans Am, assuming it's a 305. The previous owner told me it was an '83 block. Automatic transmission. Tuned Port Injection.

my usual reply to this seems to always be fuel pump.
Before you go and just replace it have the pressure and volume checked first.

That makes alot of sence I'll check that out tomarrow.. If it does end up being the fuel pump, is there a better aftermarket pump out there? Would it be worth buying over stock?

Fuel Pump...

I'm running a Holley pump that is good for over 500hp. It wasn't expensive at all. I got it www.motorsport-depot.com you might have to call because the chevy catalog isn't up yet.
