what's the biggest cam that you can install in a 1988-89 stock 305 TPI manual and still have it be a daily driver but get as much hp as possible. The stock cam is: Lift- .415/.430
Duration - 207/213
Lobe Sep - 117.0
and it's a roller cam

I have a 305 TPI w/08-302-8 cam in my IROC. Mildly ported heads and get 215 hp/279 torque at the rear wheels with an auto.

I think the heads will be the limitting factor. I'd probably go a little smaller the next time I did it...something in the 220 dur range with .46 or so lift.

I'm running the Crane 2031 Compucam in my '87 305 Roller motor. It specs out at -

Lift - .432/.459
Duration - 208/214
Not sure on the LSA, but the computer doesn't mind it at all. Passed NJ emissions with flying colors. I'm also using World Products S/R Torquer heads. The combo is in an '85 Monte SS with an auto trans and 3.73 rear.

Hope that helps!
