Intake runner volume?

Intake runner volume?
What effect does Intake runner volume have on torque and on hp? I am looking into building a sheet metal intake similar to the
TPIS mini ram. The reason I ask this is that I have a couple of options on runner design. One I can have seperate runners for
each cylinder or group two cylinders together. Just wanting to know what configuration would be better? Thanks in advance.
