Hi guys im kinda new aroud here. I jus read A big pissing match about tbi's Im 38 an im kinda happy with 92 rs with 305. Would i be happyer if i jus went to the bone yard an picked up a tpi set up or, Theres a lot of talk about gearing. Any veiws? OH an what about my whimpy little 5 speed?

GO TPI! The swap isnt all that easy, as ya gotta change the wiring harness as well, but IMO, its well worth it! As you might have seen, TPI doesent like to go above 4500 rpm. The power seems to fall off. Now, there are many after market parts that can help you out in this dept. If your lookin for some upper RPM power, might I suggest an Lt1 intake swap. You can use a TPI wiring harness, and youll have that power up top, where the TPI has the tourk down low.

If you're running the 305 it couldnt be happier with a TPI setup. Now if you were to go with a larger cube engine, another induction system will probably benefit you more. But for the 305; its a great choice.
