Rebuilding stock TPI Heads?

Guys-

After 11 years, I'm pretty sure my LB9 could use new or rebuilt heads... I know rebuilding the stock heads would be cheapest... anyone care to guess how much that would cost?

I'm doing headers, a chip and lowering springs, so I can't spend alot on heads... If I do decide to upgrade, what brand would you recommend?

I know Vortec is awesome, but they're real expensive and you need to upgrade other stuff as well to run those, right?

Thanks

Might look into World Torquer heads

If you spent a little time cleaning them up that is a good priceWorld castings

I'd like to hear some feed back from people who use or used in the past World's heads

Well i don't know what you would consider a rebuild of heads, but i'm cleaning up mine now.

So far all it's cost me is $16.95 for valve seals, and $26 for the spring compressor.

I'm not swapping anything else (valves or springs). But if your changing them, the rockers or the push rods i'm sure it would add up a bit. But probably nowhere near the cost of new heads.

The most it costs is time, cleaning and eventually porting take a while.

(Rough estimate) Valve job-$125, new springs-$25, new seals-$15, plus the going hourly labor rate. Porting and polishing-$250 to over $1000, will vary on what you want. You should be able to re-use your old locks and retainers if you don't go with a bigger cam.You can get a set of World S/R heads from www.competitionproducts.com shipped to your door ready to bolt on,for under $600. Hope that helps
