Porting TPI base near injector tip...

I am trying to match the base manifold outlet ports to the intake/head gasket. There seems to be much material that can be removed around all 4 sides of the port. But near the injector nozzle tip, the base has a bit of material around the nozzle opening. Kind of hard to describe without a picture. Is is a good idea to remove the aluminum in this area? IE get the material cleared out so that it lines up with the new gasket. Or should I just leave that area alone, and just hit 3 sides of the intake? It kind of looks like GM designed the port near the nozzle tip special.

Need some advice soon, TIA.

Do you have one of those gaskets that has the cutout for the injector area? Seems to me some of the replacement GM gaskets are like that.

I just open up the flat area to the gasket size, and what of that rounded area I cut into, I cut into. Heres a pic for ya:

Yep, Max, I do have OEM GM gaskets for my intake. They just have a semi-square opening for each injector port. I didn't realize they made gaskets any other way. Your picture is worth a thousand words. Looks like you just matched the intake to your gasket, and took out whatever was in the way? I was just worried that it would affect the spray pattern of fuel from the injector.
Looks like you did some serious grinding there!
Thanks much, will be printing out this pic!
