Another TPI L98 in the 12's!

Finally, after 9 months I drive my car into the 12's! With a 1.923 60', I ran 12.803 @ 108.50 MPH. My mods are in my signature. I used ET Streets, and launched around 4000 RPMs. And yes my T5 took the abuse (so far...). No I havent put those SLP fully-siamesed runners on yet, this time is with the TPIS long tube runners. Hopefully those runners will be done soon... Believe me I'll post when I have info with those.

Congrats on breaking into the 12's. It looks like theres more in it with a 1.9 60 ft time. How bad did you spin off the line with dumping the clutch at 4 grand?

Right on, man!! I guess it was just a matter of having the right tires to go with all that torque. I like your setup too, I got a few cues from it. I doubt I'll be able to compete with your trap speeds when I run at the track this spring, cause of the slushbox, though I'm hoping for 12's.

He thought it was alot worse than it actually was, I can tell you that much. Looked to me like there was a slight amount of spin, but IMO just the right amount. Just enough to keep the RPM's up until the car got moving. First couple times he let off Then he kept his foot in it, and what do you know... 12's!

Pablo and I were there to witness it, was too cool. Maybe it was the peer pressure that put Kevin in the 12's

Sweet!! Tell me how with 419 ft lbs of torque on tap you can launch at 4000 and not smoke the tires?? And if you didn't smoke the tires (which it doesn't sound like you do) why is your 60 foot only a 1.9xx???? I launch at idle and can run that 60 foot. And many cars with way less power than yours can beat 1.9xx. I am interested to know.

Sheeeit... I finally get a 60' better than 2.0 and you guys are chiding me for only getting 1.9's! For the record, I had a 1.88 as well. I have no idea why my 60' times arent better, other than I'm still a bad driver. I let off the first couple times because I thought I felt the tires spinning. The car doesnt plant the rear tires like it should, and I'm sorta babying the T5. Once I put in the T56, and my dad custom-builds me a torque arm, I should be able to launch at 5000+ RPMS and really plant the tires.

As far as what RPM I stop making power, according to the dyno the power peak is at 4800 RPMs. I shift it at 5200 RPMs and go thru the lights at 5000 RPMs. I have a 9-bolt with 3.70 gears.

Anyway, the strip opens here March 14 and Ill be there.
I dont have the $ for slicks and I know I cant get 12's with out them.
