I've been told that it won't fit a high-flow TPI manifold. Haven't been able to verify it yet.

I have one (on a 305 though), I paid $289 (summit MSD-8366), there's nothing I see special about them for the price. They are well crafted/machined though. Oh yea, if you get one, be very careful of the O-rings near the gear at the bottom when installing it, they break/shear quite easily.

(my old one broke just in case you're wondering why I got it then)

I'd be impressed if you gained ANY HP with that distributor. You could spend $360 else were for real HP gains. BTW, all distributors look the same once they are installed in back of the engine.

I do like the o-ring idea on the lower part of the distributor, but you are putting this shaft into a hole that was not machined for o-rings. There is no taper on the lower distributor hole to help in distributor installation.

With o-rings being so easy to tear, how does one know that the final installation did not tear the o-rings?

Yup the guy at summit also verified this and he told me to get it to work on his friends car they had to machine down the base a tad.
