It figures....
Car died!!
Ok I finally got my car running pretty smoothly, got the tranny adjusted right and everything was going good...took it down to the car wash cause it was gettin pretty nasty and washed it and decided to wash down the motor...drove it away and around for about an hour and stopped at a friends house, and everything was all right...running good. Well when i went to leave it wouldn't start...acted like it was going to but never did...decoded computer and got 4 codes....
22. Thottle Position Sensor
33. MAF (always had that one)
41. No distibutor pulses, cylinder select error
42. Electronic Spark Timing or Bypass error
...did all this happen because I washed down the engine? and why would it drive for a while and then just throw all those codes(other than the 33). Do 41 and 42 mean that i have gotten water in the distributor? I disconnected the battery to clear the codes and am wondering just what all I have to do to get it to start again!!!

My buddies car did the EXACT same thing, with the EXACT same codes. Heres what I want you to try... pull off the Dist. Cap, and see how your rotor looks... if theres one left that is. If ya dont put the rotor down all the way, which is an easy mistake, itll grind on the top of the cap, and eventually crack!
Good Luck!
Good Luck!
Voyager,
I'd suggest removing the distributor cap and rotor. Clean and dry everything. Replace anyhting that may have been arced or has carbon streaks. Test the pickup coil, and inspect all the connections (including grounds).
It sounds like you have the typical wet ignition, and when the engine was allowed to cool the moisture was allowed to condense on everything that produces and distributes the spark.
Just a guess.
