I know all setups are different, but I was just wanting to know what everyone sets their base timing at. Just curious
Thanks

I had been dirving around for a year with mine timing at 10*, thinking more is better. Well the dyno confirmed , my car like it at least 6*, and i may even try 4* or 2*. I was having no pinging, and my auto x-ray confirmed that no timing was pulled do to KNOCK. I gained 1 hp and 7 ft/lbs at the wheels, by going with stock timing.

I'd happily give up one horse for a much better all around feelingof the car when driven everyday by advancing the timing a few degrees

point is talen, yet if the car responds to take some timing out, would it not stand to reason that i am " tuning" it in, therefore making it faster....

a few degrees is worth more than one horsepower. way more. ive seen 2 degrees of timing (6 to 8) increase my trap speed from 99 to 101. add it up and thats 20hp. this was on the same night, so temps and engine temps were comparable.
