Injector question...........
Okay i recently replaced the injectors in my gta (2 crapped out on me) with a new set #19 ford "design II" injectors. I know they say #19 but at the stock fuel pressure setting they flow 22 lbs. Anyway they worked fine but i was talking to someone and the resistance of GM injectors was a little higher vs. the 14 ohm resistance of the ford injectors i have in there now. will this make a difference or cause any problems?
Red,
From my data, the design coil resistance of the Bosch injectors is 16.2 ohms, with a service tolerance from 12.0 to 18 ohms. This would mean that the switching transistors in the ECM would be correctly biased from 3.0 - 4.5 ohms total load from the bank of injectors. Given that, the 14 ohm coils on your Ford injectors shouldn't cause any problems as long as the coils son't degrade too badly over time.
