Tpi Lt1?

Hey fellas, I've got an idea that I figured would be somewhat of a novelty. I recently visited Plaza Automotive in Enfield Ct and realized what an abundance of LT1 motors there is near where i live, that in mind, would it be possible to use an LT1 long block with a TPI intake? The only difference I worry about is the bolt pattern, but that aside, I think the aluminum heads, stout bottom end, and other goodies that come stock on the LT1 would be prime property for a TPI motor - and it'd be something different for a camaro.

Yeah, we switch to the LT1 style intake--why would you want to go the other way.

Keep the LT1 intake on it and modify it to accept a regular distributor. Only problem would be running the electric water pump.

Seems like too much trouble for too little gain. But it would be different...But so would a Turbo Buick and that is a swap that is never too much trouble!!
But seriously, how much money could you dump into your present block and heads if you didn't buy the LT1.
Just something to think about.

Q: What's the primary advantage of an LT1 over a TPI?

A: It's airflow characteristics in the upper-RPM range.

Q: Any other big differences?

A: Cam driven water pump and Opti-Spark® ignition system.

That said, that would be like a chick getting a breast implant, then having the natural breast tissue removed: Still lotsa fun to look at, but not as much fun to play with as one or the other.
