Installed headers, now too rich?
I just put a set of SLP 1 5/8" headers and a Flowmaster 3" cat back on my '87 305 TPI. Along with it I axed the AC, the AIR, and the cats. (I also had to replace a temperature sensor on the passenger side of the block I decapitated in the process, and tossed in some new plugs).
Anyway, now my car runs quite rich (from the smell of things), and idles like crap--dieing way too often for my liking. Any thoughts on this one? Maybe something to do with the O2 sensor?
Prior to the install my idle was slightly rough and I'd get the SES after 30-40 minutes of highway cruising, which made me suspect the EGR. Could an EGR problem have been greatly amplified?
Any help?
Thanks!
Jeremy

Where is your O2 sensor?
Mine is in the collector of the Edelbrock TES headers and works fine unheated. Even when my O2 was out it didn't run terribley rich though it failed emissions in OH.
You need to check it out with a scanner to see what's up.
