72LT1VETTE -- I've yet to try anything--I just got got my longblock back from the machine shop, getting it rebuilt and bored and such, so the runners haven't really been top priority yet. But there's definately some good advice here, so when I get around to trying something, I can let you know what ended up working for me.

Looks like I'll try to give a go at Trigger's method first--if for no other reason than that I've already got a hammer and a vice. That, and the pictures he posted look immaculate--either he didn't really dent his that bad, or the hammer method really works! That setup looks sweet; now I think I want to paint mine, too!
