What will more compression give?

What does higher comp ratio on a L98 give out moer HP or more tourqe. Im thinkin a couple points maybe. the stock is 9.3:1 which is kinda sucky.but if it was say 10:1 would i see power similar to a LT1??

if you raise the compression you should see a gain accross the whole rpms band
that would lead to higher torque AND high hp

though the way you do the compression can also mean a difference on how much power can be made

like going with a dome piston.
that will raise your compression but if I remember right you are then going to have a worse combustion properties then if you mill the heads put a flat top or dish piston in there.

With out switching to aluminium heads your gonna have detonation! You can't just raise the compresion of an engine and expect extra horses to come flying out. An engine must be built around the choosen compresion, and a stock engines components are built to handle 9.5:1 and no more. I don't want to come across like a hard azz, but if you do this to an engine you won't realize the mistake you have made untill it is way too late, that is unless you plan on running av. gas.
