Help me "Tune" 88 L98 (AFR 195 etc.)
Got some AFR 195 Heads laying around (actually on 383 but time to make use of them for now)...2.02/1.60 valves...I plan to put them on my 88 L98...gotta get an intake, figured I would get an accel superram lowerintake and leave the stock runners/pentelum for now and throw on some supercomp hooker shorty headers and an AFPR. If I can I want to throw a good cam in there too...any opinions of what I should run because I do plan to do the runners/pentelum/full exhaust/gears sooner or later... BTW What should I run with this setup w/ the stock cam and/or a cam swap?

BTW the AFR Heads are 86 and back heads so I will need an 86 or back intake if I was to run a stock one (or ported one
)

That's nice to know...I was talking about if I use a stock TPI intake I would have to get an 86 or back and possibly port it....I want the Accel but $660.00 is a pretty hefty price so would that be the intake of choice or could I get by with something cheaper that I wouldn't have to upgrade for awhile?

Man, there are always a few Edelbrock or Accel intakes for sale. Check out the classifieds at camaroz28.com - that's where I got mine. For just under $700 I got a port matched SuperRam and Edelbrock big-mouth manifold. Just take your time and look.

I strongly suggest you start learning how to burn eproms NOW. This is the ONLY way you can tune an EFI Engine. Don't make the classic mistake of doing ALL your mods first and then realizing you need a new eprom.
Learn how to burn your own eproms FIRST and then modify your engine. It's a LOT EASIER to learn to burn an eprom on a basically stock engine than one that is heavily modified.
PS: Be prepared to dump the MAF system with a potent 383. You'll max the MAF for sure. Generally most guys will convert to SD at that point.
