alright, my car gets the infamous start-up smoke and i was told that it was the valve seals. i'm not sure if it was on this board, or camaroz28, but somebody told me to go with the viton seals. they were supposedly better than teflon. should i look around for viton seals, or get the ones from the TPIS catalog? any help would be great. thanks.

Definitely use the Viton seals. The teflon seals are cheaper, but they harden and fail after a while. They end up being as good as umbrella style seals which aren't that great. Also with the teflon seals, you'll have to have the guides machined. There are Viton seals that are made for stock replacement.

Who sells these seals because i have the same problem. Fire it up and she smokes. Let it sit and run for about 5 minutes and hit the throttle and it smokes. But not a bit of smoke while driving.
